The four main galaxies in this image are NGC3193, the eliptical galaxy at the lower left,
NGC3190, the spiral in the middle, NGC3187, the deformed spiral on the lower right, and NGC3185, the spiral
at the upper right.
There are also a couple of much smaller galaxies in the background.
Galaxies, like stars, frequently form groups.
A most notable example is the Local Group of Galaxies, which
houses over 30 galaxies including our
Milky Way,
Andromeda, and the
Magellanic Clouds.
Pictured above is nearby compact group Hickson 44.
This
group is located about 60 million
light-years away toward the constellation of Leo.
Also known as the NGC 3190 Group,
Hickson 44
contains several bright spiral galaxies and one bright
elliptical galaxy on the lower left.
Many galaxies in
Hickson 44 and other compact
groups are either slowly merging or
gravitationally pulling
each other apart.

Las cuatro galaxias de esta imagen son NGC3193, la galaxia elíptica en el lateral izquiero inferior, NGC3190, la galaxia espiral en el centro, NGC8187, la galaxia espiral deformada en el lateral derecho inferior, y NGC3185, la espiral en la parte superior.
Hay unas cuantas galaxias en el fondo mucho más débiles.
Las galaxias, al igual que las estrellas, con frecuencia forman agrupaciones. El ejemplo más notable es el Grupo Local compuesto por unas 30 galaxias incluyendo nuestra Vía Láctea, Andrómeda y las Nubes de Magallanes.
En esta imagen se muestra el grupo compacto Hickson 44. Este grupo se encuentra a unos 60 millones de años luz en la constelación de Leo. También conocido como el Grupo NGC3190, Hickson 44 (H44) contiene galaxias espirales brillantes y una galaxia elíptica brillante en el lado inferior izquierdo. Muchas galaxias en el gruipo Hickson 44 y otros grupos compactos se están mezclando o empujando unas de otras gravitatoriamente.
