The rotation of Mars becomes evident in this animation		  
 
Mars rotates almost like Earth does. A Martian day is 24h 37m, so it is easy to perceive the rotation of the planet if you take several photographs with a sufficient interval of time.

In this animation example, there are 41 minutes and 19 seconds difference between the two images.

The axis of rotation coincides with the polar cap is also evident.
