Vintage chemical photographs, taken before 1992, with very limited tools and rudimentary techniques.
Astrophotography not always been a matter of CCDs, autoguiding, digital processing and the Internet. In the old days, all we had was a film SLR camera, a telescope, and if you were very lucky, a quality equatorial mount.
There was no Internet, no forums to share information, or Amazon to find more books, and there was not really a lot of money to spend on telescopes (no cheap Chinese telescopes were available on the market).
Looking back, achieving these results with those such limited means seems an impossible goal. But we did.
These images have a very light processing, if any, after being scanned from paper copies.
La astrofotografía no siempre fue un asunto de CCDs, autoguiado, procesamiento digital y de Internet. En los viejos tiempos, todo lo que teníamos era una cámara réflex de película, un telescopio y, si eras muy afortunado, una montura ecuatorial de calidad.
No había Internet, ni foros para compartir información, ni Amazon para buscar más libros, y no había realmente mucho dinero que gastar en los telescopios (no había telescopios chinos baratos disponibles en el mercado).
Mirando hacia atrás, alcanzar esos resultados con esos medios tan limitados parece un objetivo imposible. Pero lo hicimos.
Estas imágenes tienen un procesado muy ligero, si tienen alguno, tras su digitalización desde papel.
